Release:

Sheriff Ashely Paulk and the entire Sheriff’s Office are excited to again this year partner with other first responders to offer the Halloween Candy Caravan.  Each year, the Sheriff’s Office joins with other first responders to offer a safe alternative to the traditional door to door trick or treating activities.  With all the concerns about Covid-19, we have made changes so to allow the event to continue.  This year, we will move the event to the Miller Industrial Park where vehicles will be staged so to allow families to drive through where they will meet the first responders and receive candy without ever leaving their vehicle.  Cars will then exit on New Statesville Highway.  A map is attached for reference.  The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 31 between 4:00 and 7:00.

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking donations for the cost of candy.  Corporate sponsors of more than $100 will be recognized with a sign identifying their business along the caravan route.  Individuals who wish to help, can make donations of sealed bags of candy at the Sheriff’s Office, 120 Prison Farm Road, Valdosta.  For additional details, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 229-671-2900.
