Ameris Bank Gets New Branch Market Manager

VALDOSTA, GA. – Ameris Bank Market President Steven Reynolds announces that Russ Collett has joined the bank as branch market manager for the bank’s Valdosta and Quitman markets. In this position, Collett will be responsible for the overall deposit and loan growth for the branches in the Valdosta and Quitman markets, as well as overseeing the professional development of the retail team in those markets.

Collett has extensive knowledge of the financial sector as he has worked in finance and specifically the banking industry his entire career. His experience includes roles in retail and commercial divisions, as well as various leadership roles.

“We are pleased to have Russ join our team,” said Reynolds. “His dedication and financial experience will enable him to best serve our customers in the area, and we know he will continue to help the bank thrive.” 

Collett has a business and finance degree from Shorter College and an Associates of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia Highlands College. Furthermore, he is a graduate of the Synovus C3 Graduate Banking School, and a graduate of Bank of America’s Leadership Development Program. Collett is actively involved in his community and is the board chair of Valdosta American Cancer Society, board chair of Greater Valdosta United Way, board chair of Southeast Georgia Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and on the Valdosta Country Club Board of Governors. Additionally, he is involved with the Valdosta/Lowndes Chamber of Commerce and is on the Industry committee as well as the Valdosta/Lowndes Expansion team. He is a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church, and he and his wife Cheryl live in Valdosta, Georgia.
