
VALDOSTA – More than 40 employers will be recruiting to fill a number of jobs at a veterans career expo at Moody Air Force Base (AFB) in Valdosta on Thursday, Oct. 20. The expo will be co-sponsored by the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and Moody AFB.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Moody’s Airmen and Family Readiness Center located at 5091 Gardner St. Staff from the GDOL will be on site to assist the job seekers.
The expo is open to all job seekers who have access to Moody, such as active duty personnel, retirees, National Guard and U.S. military reservists, along with their family members and civilian employees of the base.
The expo will feature a number of employers, educational institutions and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. Those already registered to participate include: Air Force Recovery Care, Ambassador Personnel, Archbold Medical Center, Berrien County Schools, Bojangle’s, Coastal Plain, Columbia Police Department, Correction Corps of America, DeKalb County Police Department, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Drury Inn and Suites, Edward Jones, Express Employment Pros, First Command Financial, Florida Department of Highway Safety, Florida Highway Patrol, Flight Safety International and Florida Department of Corrections.
Also, Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, Georgia Department of Public Safety, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation, H&R Block, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Labor Finders, Lowe’s, Lowe’s Distribution Center, MARTA, New Hire Solutions, Papa John’s Pizza, Penske Truck Leasing, Reinhart Food Service, SAFT America, Sam’s Club, Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department, Schneider, TA-Petro, Target Distribution Center, Team Temps Personnel Staffing, U.S. Department of Justice, Valdosta Fire Department, Valdosta Police Department and Walmart Distribution Center.
