GDOL to help recruit correctional officers in Valdosta

ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will host a recruitment for the Hamilton (Fla) Correctional Institution on Wednesday, June 8, in Valdosta.

The recruitment will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the GDOL’s Valdosta Career Center located at 221 South Ashley St.

The correctional facility, located about 40 miles south of Valdosta, is recruiting a number of non-certified officers. All applicants must be at least 19 years old, a U.S. citizen, have a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED), and a valid driver’s license.

Applicants are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their chances for employment.

Salaries for the officers begin at $1,077.20 bi-weekly.
