According to the AJC, there was more than 11,000 new cases of COVID-19 in Georgia last week, a new record of one-week cases for the state. The 11,176 new confirmed cases is a 60% increase compared to the previous week.

Since Governor Kemp’s shelter-in-place order ended, Georgia has reported week-over-week increases in six out of the last seven weeks. Much of the growth is in the metro Atlanta area, but higher rates are occurring across many of Georgia’s counties.
