BERRIEN, CO., Ga. – In 1883, William J. Taylor of Alapaha authored an article in the Smithsonian Institution’s Annual Report, titled “Mounds in Berrien County, Georgia.”

In it, Mr. Taylor identified and located four locations of Indian Mounds in the County and the size, condition, and archeological findings located at each mound.

This Thursday, the Berrien Historical Foundation will present a powerpoint presentation on Mr. Taylor’s report, location of the mounds, and the history of the Indian culture that was responsible for these unique burial sites that are spread across Berrien County.

The meeting will be held at Perry Memorial Library, starting at 7:00, and the public is invited to attend.
