DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – 15-year-old Terrance Jackson, a sophomore at Deerfield Beach High School, was fatally shot after attending and speaking at his grandfather’s funeral, according to Local 10.

Police say a dispute that occurred after the service resulted in three people being shot. 47-year-old Royce Freeman died at the scene and 30-year-old Shanita Miller was left injured.

Jackson missed a team trip to attend the funeral with family and loved one. His death comes as the second tragedy to hit the Deerfield Beach High School football team. In December, teammate Bryce Gowdy was struck and killed by a train just a month before he was set to join Georgia Tech’s football team, says WSVN.

Jackson’s family started a GoFundMe page to help with funeral costs.
