LOWNDES CO., Ga. – Following a controversial few weeks involving the pregame prayer at the Lowndes High School Vikings game against Champagnat, a passionate portion of the public has made it clear they will not be cowed into submission.

After someone contacted the Freedom From Religion Foundation, an organization challenging First Amendment-related religious issues, the Lowndes County Board of Education met to discuss and consult counsel Warren Turner, Jr. Contacting other schools who had dealt with similar issues, this past Monday’s called BOE meeting brought out a standing-room-only crowd of believers, several of whom took to the podium and spoke. One prayed. Afterwards, “amens” were heard round those gathered.

Remember Friday at the Game we will start a new Viking Tradition. No matter what section your tickets/seats are in we need you! When the student moment is concluded, we will stand and recite the Lord’s Prayer. We are inviting ALL Viking Fans to recite with us.
