In light of multiple states reopening from COVID-19 lockdowns, gas prices are back on the rise. Though gas prices are creeping back up toward the $2.00 mark nationally, this Memorial Day weekend marks a unique time in the market. As AAA reports, “The last time the national gas price average leading into the holiday was under $2/gallon was 17 years ago in 2003.”
In Georgia, prices are below the national average, currently at $1.70 per gallon. The average, as published by AAA, is higher in Valdosta, at $1.74 (5/21/2020).
