ATLANTA, GA – According to a report on AJC, an Atlanta mother died Thursday night after attacking her young children hours before and then ingesting a cleaning solution.

Police received a report of an “emotionally disturbed” mother abusing children, and arrived to the woman’s apartment. Tanesha Wood, 34 years old, had reportedly struck her 10-year-old with an object and tried to smother her 3-year-old before pouring bleach on both children. Woods then drank some of the bleach before police arrived.

Both children and Woods were rushed to the hospital. Additionally two Atlanta officers were treated after inhaling chemical fumes from the scene.

Woods later died at Grady Memorial Hospital and an investigation is ongoing.
