Joan Whitfield, fondly called “JoJo” was born on August 22, 1954, to late Alma-Williams Whitfield and the late Amark Whitfield at 210 Eugene St., Valdosta, GA.  She attended Valdosta City School System.  She was employed at Saft America before her health failed.  She attended Church at Gospel Train Outreach Ministries, Inc.. 1282 SW M.L. King Dr, Madison, FL.

On Monday, August 17, 2020, Joan was lifted unto eternal rest.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother: David C. Whitfield; one nephew: Elmer Glenn; one great nephew: Curtis Mack Jr; one uncle: Jim Williams, Jr; and two aunts: Annie L. Williams and Lois Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters: Felicia Graham (PeeWee) and Kedra Whitfield (Dee); four sisters: Lucy (Melvin) Taylor, Ernestine Wright, Doris Davis, and Gloria Ann Johnson; two brothers: Aurelius (Mildred) Whitfield and James C. Whitfield; five grandchildren: Domaraa, Timothy, Timiya, Timon, and Jomaraa; eight great grandchildren: Kaylen, Londyn, Kaitlyn, Harmony, Domaraa, Cali, Juelz; eight nieces: Wilena (Derrick), Monica (Jeremy), Mahl, Aisha, Latron, Latonya, LaShonda, Cheryl and Ershia; three nephews: Curtis, Rudolph (Greta) and Steve; thirty-three great nieces and nephews; special friend: Leroy Thompson, Jr; goddaughter: Constance Mitchell; bonus son: Timothy Wiggins; dedicated friends: Emma Thomas, Bealuh Gatlin, April Mitchell, Patricia (Gerald) Jones, Mary Ann Nelson, Betty Edwards, Marilyn, Sherrie, and Raymond Thompson, Ruth Hancock, Jada Ferguson, Gwen Lewis, Phylis Mabry, Anthony Willis, Caleb Davis, Quinton Wade, Freddie Berrian, Willie Smith, Sam McBurrough, Robert Robinson, Randy Harris, and Darrius Crumpton.

Graveside Services for the late Ms. Joan Whitfield will be Saturday, August 29, 2020, 10:00 a.m., at Pallbearers Cemetery, Valdosta, GA.
Public viewing will be Friday, August 28, 2020, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Godfrey Funeral Home.
All those who wish to pay their respect in person must wear a mask during visitation and at the gravesite.
