Charles Cornelius, Sr., 85, lifelong resident of Hahira, died on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at his home. Born in Hahira on August 7, 1934, he was the son of the late Charlie and Ferris Stubbs Cornelius. Mr. Cornelius graduated from Hahira High School. He purchased a farm and began his life as a farmer. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Survivors are his children, Sherry and Ricky Brunston, Iann and Allan Walker, Eve McGuire, Charles Cornelius, Jr., Lisa and Max Morris, Kimberlee and Floyd Miller all of Hahira; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Cornelius was recently preceded in death by his wife, Rachel.
Services will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church. Pastor David Kennedy will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery.
