Kemp orders Georgia schools to remain closed

According to the AJC on Thursday, Governor Brian Kemp has ordered that Georgia public schools remain closed until at least April 24, 2020.

This decision, as part of the ongoing effort to fight the COVID-19 outbreak, gives K-12 schools the ability to reopen on April 27. These dates, however, could change if the pandemic worsens.

Additionally, public colleges, which have already shifted to online learning, will stay closed through the end of the school year.

Brian Kemp will hold a Statewide Town Hall tonight (3/26/20) at 8 p.m. which can be heard live locally on WVGA Newstalk 105.9.
