COLQUITT Co. – A grand jury indictment is expected next week against the South Georgia man accused of killing five young adults, then setting fire to the home where it happened.
Prosecutors presented evidence in the case against Jeffrey Peacock, 25, during a closed-door grand jury hearing Thursday morning, according to Assistant District Attorney Jim Prine.
The five victims were found dead in May 2016, after a fire at a home on Rossman Dairy Road.
Peacock is accused of shooting and killing Jordan Croft, 22, Jonathan Edwards, 21, Alicia Norman, 20, Jones Pidcock, 21, and Reid Williams, 21. Investigators believe he then set the house on fire to try to conceal the crime.
Peacock remains in the Colquitt County jail, held on a million dollar bond.
