FITZGERALD, Ga.— Crossings on Sherman St. and Grant St. will be close February 26 for CSX track replacement. Traffic is expected to increase on Rhine Rd., Joshlyn Rd., and SR 107 from detours.

Ben Hill Co: traffic detour for rail maintenance on Fitzgerald route

TIFTON – CSX plans to work on railroad crossings on State Route (SR) 11 north and south, the one way pair streets in Fitzgerald, beginning next week.

The crossings on Sherman and Grant streets are scheduled to close at 8 p.m. Feb. 19 and reopen by 6 p.m. Feb. 26. The railroad will remove the existing track and roadbed, update the track and surface and install new crossing material.

Traffic will utilize Rhine Road, Joshlyn Road and SR 107 for the detour. Signs will be posted.
