BAKER CO., Ga. – When I first start venturing away from Ben Hill County, I was told to photograph this house, but was immediately warned to be careful, as the owner was a pistol-packing grandmother!
I went with some friends to photograph the house and made sure to park across the highway and out of view of the owner’s place. I jumped out with my camera, clicked off a few shots and prayed I’d gotten something worth posting.
As it turns out, Mrs. Effie, who owned the house, was just doing her best to protect the place from the thieves that had been picking over the place for years. As of today, I believe one of the family members is restoring the house, slowly.
