Cockfighting Bust Leads to 22 Arrests

LINCOLN COUNTY, Ga. – Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene of the property on Thomson Highway after receiving a tip less than an hour prior, according to WRDW.

Upon arrival, deputies say that 50 to 60 people ran out of the building and into the surrounding wooded area. So far only 22 arrest have been made, including the home owner.

Two fighting pens were found along with multiple cages with chickens inside. Approximately 500 to 600 chickens were found on the property, some of which were already dead.

A large some of money was seized at the location, at this time it is believed that the money was used for gambling purposes.
