MADISON Co. – One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash Tuesday in Madison County.

According to FHP, the crash occurred just after 6 p.m. on NE Dusty Miller Ave. A motorcycle was heading southbound and a Madison County Sheriff’s Office patrol car was heading northbound with its lights and sirens on.

FHP says as the vehicles approached each other, the patrol car traveled into the southbound lane and came to a stop in order to get the motorcyclist to stop. The motorcyclist accelerated and tried to swerve around the patrol car, but crashed into the front of it. The collision caused the motorcycle to travel onto the shoulder and overturn.

The motorcyclist, 44-year-old Gregory Graham, of Madison, was taken to Tallahassee Memorial with serious injuries.

The driver of the patrol car was not injured.

Charges are pending.
