VALDOSTA – A former Colquitt County employee was sentenced to two years in jail on Tuesday and will be required to pay back thousands of dollars taken from her job.

Rene Beamon was convicted of taking cash from licensing fees, permits and other transactions while she worked for the Emergency Management Agency and Compliance office.

Beamon was sentenced to two years in jail, 13 years of probation and over $82,000 in restitution.
