The suspect in the Fitzgerald shooting that took the life of 26 year old victim Michael Moore outside his home has now been identified. Police are searching for a 16 year old male identified as Herbert Robinson. According to police Moore answered a knock at his door and went outside to speak with three persons. His wife told the authorities that she heard a shot and her husband stumbled back inside and died. Warrants charge the 16 year old Robinson with murder.

Lowndes County officials are warning area residents to make sure that their pets have been inoculated for rabies and they say that any exposure to bats in the area should be immediately reported to animal control staffers. So far at least two canines have been exposed to rabies this month.

The driver of the tractor trailer that rear-ended 18 year old Summer Lee in Henry County causing her death has been charged with second degree homicide. Daniel Crane the driver of the semi was also charged with following too closely for a commercial vehicle after causing the seven vehicle crash on Interstate 75. Summer Lee was a senior at Locust Grove High School and had just celebrated her 18th birthday.

The family of Kendrick Johnson the Lowndes High student found dead on campus in 2013 has filed a new civil lawsuit in connection with his death; dozens of defendants are named in the suit. The Johnsons are expected to appear in court this week for hearings to determine the amount of lawyers’ fees they will be required to pay in connection with dropped lawsuits that made the same claims as this new federal filing.
