Release from the Georgia State Patrol

On 7/28/2016 at approximately 0735 hours, SFC Jeromy Roberts responded to a two vehicle collision on Whitewater Road near Idlewood Drive in Lowndes County. A blue 2002 Dodge Ram, driven by a 32 year old Henry Dubose of Valdosta, was traveling south on Whitewater Road. A blue 2007 Toyota Tundra, driven by a 43 year old John Foelker of Lake Park, was traveling north on Whitewater Road.  As both vehicles negotiated a curve, the Toyota Tundra left its lane and traveled into the southbound lane striking the Dodge Ram in a head-on collision.

Mr. Dubose was transported to SGMC where he succumbed to his injuries.  Mr. Foelker was pronounced deceased on-scene. Whitewater Road was closed for approximately two hours. Restraints were not used by either driver. Airbags did deploy in both vehicles. Troopers do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a contributing factor in this collision but will be pending a toxicology report. No charges will be made in this collision. Next of kin has been notified for each driver.
