Warrants have been issued in Moultrie calling for the arrest of Darren Huntley. He is charged with aggravated assault. According to police Huntley shot his victim in the face; he is identified as Monterrius Haynes. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of his wounds.

Good news for teachers in the Lowndes County School System now that officials have approved the $82 million dollar budget. A 3 percet raise for instructors is included along with funds for new hires, in an effort to have smaller class sizes. There is no plan for furlough days and officials say that reserve funds will not be used to balance the budget.

Thomas County law enforcement officers were led on a high speed chase by two teenagers. Downtown Ochlocknee was the area of concern as the suspects were reportedly attempting to break into a grocery store. When the law showed up the two fled the scene. However, 17 year old Daniel Arnold and a 15 year old juvenile were captured. The vehicle that they used was stolen.
