STATENVILLE – A man recently released from prison is now back in custody after a high speed chase Tuesday night in Echols County.

George Fleming, 56, of Florida, was reportedly driving a stolen vehicle taken from a construction company in Douglas.

His vehicle went through a fence, and he jumped out and ran away. Deputies used a taser to arrest him.

Fleming was released from prison on April 13 after serving time for a similar offense.
