The collision involving a mini-van and a dump truck in Baconton has left the driver 29-year-old Florinda Vicente of Albany, with life-threatening injuries. According to the Mitchell County coroner, the passenger 33-year-old Herlinda Cruz-Reyes from Moultrie was killed. Vicente was listed in critical condition at an Albany hospital. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
Francisco “Frankie” Molina charged with being a major supplier and distributor of cocaine and marijuana in South Georgia has been sentenced was sentenced to serve 11 and a half years in prison. He entered a guilty plea to his charges. His area of operation included Mitchell County and Camilla.

Reed cites the economic backlash that could follow the adoption of the law. He fears that Atlanta companies will be hindered in their efforts to attract major events and conventions to their area. Lawmakers passed the legislation on Wednesday. The changes sent to the governor’s desk prevents faith-based organizations, including their right of refusal to serve or hire someone. It also protects religious officials who decline performing gay marriages.
