ALMA – Police in Alma have arrested a man for allegedly tying up, beating a burning a woman with an iron.

Ivery Lee Williams, 59, has been charged with false imprisonment, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine, reports WALB.

Williams allegedly tied up a 24-year-old woman with a bicycle tire tube and duct tape. The woman was found Sunday morning. She was reportedly naked and had been burned with an iron and beaten.

The victim was taken to the burn center in Augusta for treatment.
