THOMAS Co. – A man and his daughter died, and three others were critically injured Monday when a prison van struck a SUV in Thomas County.
A Thomas County prison van “t-boned” a Chevrolet Suburban just before noon near the intersection of Highway 84 and Crab Apple Drive, according to reports from the Georgia State Patrol.
The driver of the Suburban, Bobby Joe Edwards, 40, of Troy, Alabama, died at the scene of the incident. His daughter, Lacie Edwards, 6, died later at the hospital, reports stated, reports WALB.
Three other passengers in the SUV were transported to Archbold Medical Center and are in critical condition.
The driver was the only occupant of the prison van and was not injured in the crash.
GSP officials have not yet stated whether or not charges will be filled in the incident.
