Authorities arrest a Dekalb murder suspect in Sparks

SPARKS – A trio of law enforcement agencies converged on a Sparks residence Wednesday to apprehend a suspect wanted for murder in Dekalb County.

Christopher Antonio Florence, 30, of Sparks was arrested at his home on Pine Street, according to reports from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

A U.S. Marshals task force made the arrested assisted by CCSO and the Sparks Police Department.

Florence was arrested for malice murder, felony murder, four counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, violation of the Street Gang Terrorism Act and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The charges come from a warrant issued by a Dekalb County grand jury warrant, but officials have not released any details about who was killed or when.
