ALAPAHA – A 12-year-old boy was killed and a female driver was seriously injured during a Wednesday afternoon crash in Berrien County.

At approximately 6 p.m., the Georgia State Patrol responded to a one-vehicle accident on Barber Shop Road near Lenox Alapaha Road.

A 50-year-old woman was driving a Saturn Ion when her car left the roadway, striking a concrete culvert before crashing into a tree. The child was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman flown by helicopter to arch bold Hospital with reported head injuries. Both were reportedly wearing seat belts during the incident, reports WALB.
