TALLAHASSEE — Courts in Tallahassee have emphatically stated the importance of reporting potential sexual misconduct at area schools.
Two teachers in the area have been sentenced to probation and community service as a result of failing to report assault on students.
Sunshine Jacobs and two other teachers at the Magnolia School were arrested earlier this year after a student, 12, told them she had been sexually abused. However, they did not report the incident to authorities. They were convicted in November.
Jacobs received 2 years of probation and 250 hours of community service. Another teacher, Kathleen McGlynn, plead no contest and was ordered to 2 years probation and 200 hours of community service.
