VALDOSTA – For the third consecutive season, the Valdosta State Blazers have earned the right to participate in the opening round of the 2016 NCAA Division II Football Playoffs.

With a record of 8-2 on the season and a 6-2 stint against Gulf South Conference opponents, the Blazers were rewarded with a No. 4 ranking in the final release of the Super Regional 2 polls. As a result, Valdosta State will square off against No. 5 ranked UNC Pembroke (9-1) in Valdosta, Ga. at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The full Super Region 2 rankings heading into the postseason are as follows:

No. 1 – North Alabama
No. 2 – Newberry
No. 3 – Florida Tech
No. 4 – Valdosta State
No. 5 – UNC Pembroke
No. 6 – North Greenville
No. 7 – Tuskegee

Tickets will go on sale on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. in the Valdosta State Athletic Ticket Office, located inside The Complex. Season ticket holders will have until Thursday, November 17th at noon to purchase their season ticket. Reserved seats will be $18, while general admission seats will be sold for $10 (adults) and $5 (Seniors 65+ and youth 5-College w/ ID). The ticket office will be open on Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
