The Georgia drought is worsening and farmers say that the extreme dry conditions are threatening crops, livestock and water sources across much of the South. Among the hardest hit areas are Northeast Alabama and Northwest Georgia.


14 Albany residents have been charged in the wake of a shooting incident; Among the suspects are two juveniles, one male and one female. A shots fired report was called in from the Whitney Avenue area, and when officers arrived on the scene all persons present were taken into custody. The charges include possession of marijuana, possession of firearms by a convicted felon, possession of firearms during the commission of a felony and theft by receiving stolen property.


A shooting in Henry County left 3 people dead and one person at last report was listed in critical condition. Law enforcement officials have arrested 5 people in connection with the incident. According to the report Police say 19-year-old Mathew Baker and 22-year-old Jacob Kosky were arrested and charged with three counts of murder, along with other felonies. Also arrested were 18-year-old Jacob Williams, 21-year-old Kayla Head and 19-year-old Brooke Knight; they are charged with obstruction of a police investigation.


The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that a ballot was cast for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton but the ballot registered in the name of candidate Donald Trump. The machine malfunction occurred in Bryan County where it took three attempts for the voter’s ballot to register in the name of the desired candidate. The incident is now under investigation by the office of Secretary of State Brian Kemp.


The City of Clarkston, Georgia could set a history making precedent if it follows through with a plan to allow all citizens to vote even if they are not U.S. citizens, however, that does not include illegals or undocumented residents. According to the report the city pays all workers a guaranteed $15 per hour minimum wage and they get a day off with pay to cast their votes. The 2014 census reported that over half the population of Clarkston, Georgia is foreign born.
