LAKE PARK – Officials have released the name of the man whose body was found in a Lowndes County lake Monday morning.

The body of Andrew Jospeh Rickert, 42, of Sanford, Florida was found in Long Pond at around 7 a.m. Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office deputies and fire and emergency medical services were called to a Teresa Drive address in Lake Park after an he was found unresponsive in the lake.

Rickert was pulled to the shore and resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. Sheriff’s Office detectives and crime scene investigators were called and assumed the investigation.

An exact cause of death has not been determined although alcohol may be a factor.

This investigation is ongoing and an autopsy will be performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Medical Examiner Office on Wednesday.
