A reward is offered by law enforcement officials in Thomasville for information leading to the arrests of the persons involved in  the brutal attack upon a man at the Econo Lodge on Highway 19. There were multiple witnesses but police say that not many of them have come forward with information.


The 14 year old step brother of 22 year old Khadijah Adkinson has been charged with her death and the death of the fetus she carried. Adkinson died from a gunshot wound to the chest. The 14 year old boy is charged with felony murder, feticide and other violations. Officials do not know if the incident was accidental.


A group of state champions are in need of some public assistance. The Albany 8th Avenue 7 and under All-Stars are the first all African American team to take top honors in the Dizzy Dean South State Championship. The World Series will be held in South Haven, Mississippi July 15th, and a Gound me account has been set up to help the team with expenses.


Tift County school teachers are getting pay increases. Their 10 percent raise is included in the new 60 million dollar budget. There will also be funding for new aides and substitute teachers.


Friends and family members are lending their support to the family of a Sumter County trucker who lost his life in a three vehicle crash. He was identified as 39 year old Christopher White of Americus. According to law enforcement officials 20 year old Adaisha Walker failed to yeild at a stop sign and drove into the oncoming traffic. White attempted to miss her vehicle but crashed into a semi-tractor trailer. The second truck driver was identified as 39 year old James Layfield who was taken to the hospital for treatment. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the White family with funeral expenses.


A high speed chase into downtown Thomasville led to the arrest of Sarabian Porter ,William Williford and Carlton Williams all of Albany; they are now in the jail in Grady County. Officials recovered stolen lawn equipment items taken from the Home Depot in Tallahassee. The trio have also been connected to thefts from Home Depot stores in Cordele Albany and Leesburg and the Walmart in Thomasville.


A Thomas County mother and daughter found that someone had flattened the tires on their car and shortly thereafter Fire and Rescue personnel responded to a fire at their mobile home. Investigators received a report that the daughter’s former boyfriend had been spotted in the area. The residence which has been home to the family for 30 years was a total loss and Steven Lamar Green is now charged with first degree arson and other violations.


There will be a reduction in the route service provided by Lowndes County Transit. Officials say that with the expansion of urban Valdosta some areas will no longer qualify for transit services offered by the county. Some County to City transportation will still be available, but routes listed as urban to urban areas will be excluded. The change will impact riders in the areas of Moody, Hahira, Remerton, the Bemiss Corridor and Stone creek.
