Americus > Teens Arrested for Theft, Armed Robbery

AMERICUS — Three teenagers were arrested Sunday in Americus related to theft and for a previous armed robbery.

WALB is reporting that about 12:40 Sunday morning, Americus police got a call about a theft on East Church Street.  They saw their suspect and chased him on foot to the parking lot of Krystal restaurant on Tripp Street and took the suspect, 15, into custody.

They eventually charged him with Theft by Taking and Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers. Then later discovered that he is wanted for Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault as a result of a May 21st incident which occurred on South Lee Street.

The suspect was transported to the Crisp County Youth Detention Center.

Later, another suspect, also 15, and Styles Rainer Dodson, 18 of Lewis Lowe Court, were each charged with one count of Armed Robbery and one count of Aggravated Assault in connection with the May 21st Armed Robbery on South Lee Street.

The juvenile was transported to the Crisp County YDC, and Styles was transported to the Sumter County Jail.

Further investigation is ongoing as it relates to other crimes in the area.
