Release:

Sheriff Paulk has announced beginning today, two teams from the Georgia Army National Guard will be at the Lowndes County Jail testing inmates for the Covid-19 virus.  This testing is voluntary and is being made available to any inmate who wishes to be tested.  For those who choose not to be tested, special housing arrangements will be made for the continued safety to all.  No Covid-19 cases have been reported in the Lowndes County Jail and this testing is precautionary.

Sheriff’s Office around the country are tasked with keeping those persons incarcerated in county jails safe.  This testing is another step to make sure the health of everyone involved is taken into consideration and we continue to be operate as safely as possible.
