3/27 noon DHP/South Health District COVID-19 update

According to The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH), the South Health District has received confirmation of seven new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total case count to 34 in the district. Four individuals are residents of Tift County, two reside in Lowndes County and one lives in Ben Hill County.

As of noon on March 27, Lowndes County has 16 confirmed cases, Tift County has 11, Irwin County has 3 and Ben Hill and Turner Counties each have two.

Across the state, cases rose to 2001, with 64 deaths, according to the noon update released by the DPH. Fulton and Dougherty counties continue to be the hardest hit.
