HAHIRA, Ga. – Each year Greater Lowndes participates in Make-A-Difference Day and there will be two sites in Hahira. There will also be sites in Valdosta and Lowndes County, so contact Keep Lowndes/Valdosta Beautiful to volunteer at 229-671-3698 or email astrickland@valdostacity.com.

Below is a summary of the two Hahira sites so if you want to help specifically in Hahira, be sure to let them know when you register and let’s make a difference together!

Site #1: Hahira Historical Society will need 10-15 volunteers and tasks will include cleaning up the exterior of the building (e.g. pull weeds & vines, trim bushes & trees, sweep off roof, mow & weed eat, pile limbs for pickup, and blow off the parking lot)

Site #2: Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes (Boys Ranch) will need 5-10 volunteers and task will include cleaning out a storage room. To learn more about the Boys Ranch, https://www.georgiasheriffsyouth.org/index.php/boys-ranch
