The state ranked third on the list of states complaining about the internet the most, according to a study by tech experts at by Crawford, a a website design company.
The study was commissioned to gain a better understanding of the number of complaints from each state to identify those with the most widespread internet issues across the United States.
The tech experts analyzed the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) data on internet complaints from 2014 to 2024 to determine which states had the highest number of complaints.
Georgia ranked third on the list, having the third most complaints about the internet. Residents there filed 146.59 internet complaints per 100,000 people, highlighting widespread frustration with internet service quality.
The states that complained about their internet the most are: West Virginia, Louisiana, Georgia, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, and Mississippi.
Meanwhile, the states that complained the least are: North Dakota, South Dakota, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Wyoming, Utah, Massachusetts, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.
Sam Crawford, director at by Crawford, commented on the findings:
“The internet is essential for many people’s daily lives and jobs. Some people even feel lost without it in their free time.
Given how frustrating it can be to deal with no internet or a poor connection, we wanted to see which states had the most complaints about internet quality. We found that West Virginia had the worst internet on average based on complaint numbers, while North Dakota had the best.
We also discovered that billing complaints and issues with internet availability were the most common type of complaint for all states.”

Methodology
The study analyzed data from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from 2014 to 2024 to determine the states that complain the most about their internet. The study measured the number of internet complaints regarding internet speeds, availability, billings, and equipment. Finally, this number was divided per 100,000 residents to produce a more accurate representation.
