VALDOSTA – Dr. Samuel Taylor has had a successful medical practice for over 30 years, and the best part of operating his practice in the city of Valdosta is having his daughter and son to assist him.

Taylor and his daughter, Jerthtia Taylor Grate, are the physicians, and his son, Samuel Jumacey Taylor, is the Physicain’s Nurse of Comprehensive Women Health.

The family provides clinical and surgical care to obstetric gynecology patients. In addition to delivering babies, Dr. Taylor and Dr. Grate perform laparoscopic, vaginal and abdominal hysterectomies, surgery for stress and urinary incontinence, surgery for vaginal prolapses, endometrial ablations, laparoscopic tubal ligations, Essure tubal occlusions, hysteroscopy and treatments for ectopic pregnancies.

Attending medical school has always been a tradition for the Taylor family. Dr. Samuel Taylor has encouraged his children to follow in his footsteps.

“Education has always been the key for our family. I started Comprehensive Women Health to leave a business that could last forever. I’m proud of my children accomplishments. Plus, I’m assurance they are providing quality care to the public, daily fellowship with each child, and peace of mind that we have each other back,” Taylor said.

“My father and I work well together. We have a mutual respect for each other as colleagues and family. Plus, his mild mannered nature makes it easy to work with him,” said Grate. “I was 31-years-old when I started working at Comprehensive Women Health with my father. The pro is that I have someone who loves me and has my best interest at all times. The con is that when we disagree I sometimes feel that I’m letting him down.”

Grate said her father played the ultimate role in her success.

“He was my mentor and guided me to the path I have chosen. Through his love, guidance, and sacrifice, I was able to reach my fullest potential,” Grate said. “My father and I have always had a close, personal relationship from the time I was a teenager. I value his opinion on all my life choices. Being in practice together sometimes makes it difficult to have family gatherings but we make it work.”

“It is always my pleasure to assist my family in providing the ultimate care for our patients at Comprehensive Women Health,” said Samuel Jumacey Taylor
