NORCROSS, GA – Early Tuesday morning, a state trooper attempted to pull over a white pickup truck. The 16-year-old driver did not stop the vehicle until it reached a dead end on the road. According to a report on the AJC, the trooper opened fire on the teenager when he began backup the vehicle toward him, according to the GBI.
A passenger in the vehicle fled from the scene and has yet to be apprehended. The teenager who was shot was taken to a local hospital, and his injuries are not considered life threatening. The pickup was later determined to be a stolen vehicle from Gwinnett County.
The GBI is still investigating the incident.
