VALDOSTA — Valdosta Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection to a May 2 shooting investigation.

The Valdosta Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Kapreal Jamil Griffin, who is currently wanted for his involvement in a shooting incident on May 2nd.
On May 2, 2026, at 2:10 am, Valdosta Police Officers responded to The Boardwalk Ultra Lounge, 2159 Bemiss Road, for a subject who had been shot. The call to E911 had been placed by a member of the armed private security company the club hired.
When officers arrived, they found a 27-year-old male lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his leg. Officers immediately rendered first aid until South Georgia Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene. EMS transported the male to the hospital, where he is listed as stable.
Valdosta Police Department Detectives and Crime Scene Personnel responded to the scene.
Through investigation, detectives determined that Kapreal Jamil Griffin, 46, was the alleged shooter in this case. Griffin and the male who was shot are known to each other.
On May 7, 2026, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Griffin for:
· Aggravated assault-felony;
· Aggravated battery-felony;
· Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon-felony; and
· Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony-felony.
Griffin is currently wanted by the Valdosta Police Department on the above charges, and his whereabouts are unknown. He is described as an African American male, 6’2”, 260 pounds, with short hair and facial hair.
If anyone sees Griffin or knows his location, please call 911. If anyone is found to be assisting Griffin in evading arrest, they will be criminally charged with hindering the apprehension or punishment of a criminal.
The hired armed security company used by this nightclub does not consist of certified law enforcement officers.
