VALDOSTA – Wild Adventures Theme Park announces the major expansion to the Great Pumpkin LumiNights event with new pumpkin statues and more.

Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta, Georgia, is thrilled to announce a major expansion to its annual Great Pumpkin LumiNights event, promising an even more enchanting and memorable experience for families. This year’s event will feature new pumpkin statues, thousands of additional lights and displays, expanded entertainment, and a larger event footprint throughout the park.
A Growing Fall Tradition
“This will be our fourth year of Great Pumpkin LumiNights, and it has become an annual fall tradition for families throughout our region,” said Jon Vigue, vice president and general manager. “We are excited to expand the event this year with new additions to make Great Pumpkin LumiNights even more memorable and fun.”
New Additions to Delight Guests
The signature attraction of Great Pumpkin LumiNights, towering animal statues made of stacked, carved pumpkins, will see new additions this year, including a ferocious lion, an impressive zebra, and a flamboyance of flamingos. “Each statue glows bright in the night and creates opportunities for families to create perfect fall photos with each other,” said Vigue.
In addition to these stunning statues, guests can look forward to new light displays such as Foggy Forest, Glow Grove, and Tunnel of Lights. “These light displays are impressive, immersive, and create a unique experience our guests won’t find anywhere else. But most importantly, these new expansions are just fun,” said Adam Floyd, director of sales and marketing.
Introducing the Garden of Giants
Another exciting addition is the Garden of Giants, featuring enormous live pumpkins that weigh over 700 pounds. “Our Garden of Giants is growing now, and we’ll be sharing progress photos over the next few months,” Floyd added. “We are aiming for pumpkins that are about 700 pounds, but these pumpkins have been known to grow to over 1,500. I’m crossing my fingers.”
Expanding Popular Attractions
The LumiNight Legends Pumpkin Gallery, introduced last year, will also be expanded. This gallery showcases intricately carved pumpkins of famous faces, places, and more from Georgia and Florida. “We collaborated with master pumpkin carver Jim Morey to create an impressive gallery that was a huge hit with our guests,” said Elke Schultz, marketing manager. “Jim is already hard at work creating new carvings that will increase our gallery to nearly 200 pumpkins.”
New Entertainment and Festival Fun
Great Pumpkin LumiNights will feature new entertainment and even more carved and illuminated pumpkin displays throughout the park, alongside the country’s largest celebration of a classic fall flavor, The Pumpkin Spice Festival. “It can be difficult sometimes to describe just how big this event is,” Schultz remarked. “Over the next few months, we’ll be sharing more about our new entertainment and the new treats of The Pumpkin Spice Festival. We can’t wait to welcome our guests to enjoy thrilling rides and pumpkin spice treats during the day and glowing fun and entertainment at night.”
Event Details
Great Pumpkin LumiNights begins September 20 and continues every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through October. The event is included with park admission or a Season Pass. 2024 Season Passes are on sale now and provide admission through the summer, as well as Great Pumpkin LumiNights and the park’s new holiday event, Wild Adventures Christmas Wild & Bright.
