VALDOSTA – A man wanted for domestic violence, robbery, and burglary, was arrested on Ashley Street.

Release:

Arrested: Jerod Shanquille Edwards, African American male, 29 years of age, Valdosta resident

On April 17, 2024, at approximately 3 pm., a detective with the Valdosta Police Department Narcotics Unit observed Jerod Shanquille Edwards, 29 years of age, driving a vehicle in the 2400 block of North Ashley Street. The detective was familiar with Edwards and confirmed that he had nine active arrest warrants from a domestic violence incident that occurred earlier this year. The arrest warrants included robbery and burglary.

The detective conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, and while he was speaking with Edwards, Edwards put the vehicle in drive and fled from the traffic stop. As Edwards was driving south on Ashley Street, other Valdosta Police Department Patrol Officers were in the area and pursued behind Edwards.

Edwards eventually stopped his vehicle in the 800 block of North Ashley Street. Edwards refused to get out of his vehicle. Officers forced entry into the vehicle and removed Edwards. He was taken into custody without any further incident.

Edwards was transported to Lowndes County Jail, where he is being held on 9 active arrest warrants. He is now also facing additional charges of:
Fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement officers-felony;
Reckless driving-misdemeanor; and
Obstruction of an officer-misdemeanor.
