Release:

Moody Air Force Base is set to commemorate Women in Aviation Week from March 11-15, 2024. The week-long event aims to forge connections between the younger generation and U.S. Air Force Airmen, fostering inspiration for future careers in airpower and aviation, to contribute to a more diverse and effective Air Force in the years to come.

The culmination of WIA Week will be marked by base tours on March 14-15, running from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., specifically designed for youth and children by way of school field trips. This free event will showcase various static aircraft and aircrews from both the Active Duty and Air National Guard.
Additionally, there will be two opportunities for media engagement: March 14, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., for static displays and March 15, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., for a Combat Search and Rescue training followed by static displays.

Please be advised that due to heightened flying activity involving arriving and departing aircraft, Valdosta and the surrounding areas may experience increased noise levels and unfamiliar sounds.
