VALDOSTA – Registration is open for Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks & Recreation Authority’s Azalea Festival 5K event celebration.

Registration is open now for VLPRA’s Azalea Festival 5K, the event that kicks off the annual Azalea Festival.  The race will be March 9th at Valdosta Early College Academy, with Valdosta’s largest festival opening later that day at VLPRA’s Drexel Park.

VLPRA encourages advanced registration at vlpra.com but will accept race day registration.  On-site check in will open at 7:00 AM on Saturday morning, March 9th, at the Valdosta Early College Academy (VECA) located at 1605 Azalea Drive. 
The 5K begins at VECA with a mass start at 8:00 AM and will end in the same location. 

The event is open to all ages and all fitness levels.  Strollers and well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. 

Paying participants will get t-shirts while supplies last and top finishers will receive medals for each age division. 

It’s only $20 for advanced registration.  The price goes up to $25 on noon March 8th.
Sign up by March 1st to guarantee a t-shirt.
