Valdosta man arrested after stealing money from car

Valdosta police arrest Antrone Sims after being caught stealing money from a vehicle.

Offender: Sims, Antrone D, African American male, age 43, resident of Valdosta

On January 9, 2022, at approximately 8 pm, patrol officers with Valdosta Police Department responded to 807 South Fry Street, after E911 received a call from a citizen stating a subject, later identified as Antrone Sims, had stolen currency from inside of her vehicle. Upon the officers’ arrival, the victim told them she heard her vehicle door shut and when she went to the car Sims was inside of it. The victim pointed Sims out to the officers, and they were able to detain him. Further investigation revealed another citizen also witnessed Sims commit this crime. Sims was arrested and transported to Lowndes County Jail where he was charged with theft by entering an auto (Felony).
