Release:

Lowndes High School’s Class of 2020 graduation rate is 94.1%, which is well above the state average of 83.8%. This is the fourth consecutive year that Lowndes High School’s graduation rate has exceeded 90%. “The LHS graduation rate is a reflection of the dedication of the teachers, administrators, and support personnel at Lowndes High School as well as the entire school system,” said Principal LeAnne McCall. McCall goes on to add, “Without question, educators worked tirelessly last spring to meet the needs of students in the midst of unprecedented challenges. Collectively, our educators did whatever was necessary to make sure the LHS students, especially the seniors, ended the school year on a positive note.”

In 2020, with an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students, Lowndes High
School was the 10th largest high school in Georgia. Of these ten schools, LHS
achieved the second-highest graduation rate. “Graduation is the culmination of multiple years of hard work, overcoming obstacles, and showing resilience in working towards this accomplishment. Congratulations to the Class of 2020 for attaining this milestone,” said Superintendent Wes Taylor.
