Road Closure: Ledford Road

Lowndes County announces that CSX will have a road closure at the railroad crossing on Ledford Road off SR 38 in Naylor. Ledford Road will be closed Wednesday September 23, 2020 from 5:00 pm until further notice for repairs and upgrades to the existing crossing.  CSX discovered a broken rail in this area and will be removing the crossing for repair.  The crossing will be replaced and reopened within the next 45-60 days by a different contractor.  The contractor will be establishing a detour using GA HWY 135 and Savannah Road.  All motorist are encouraged to use caution when traveling the area.
