LOWNDES CO., Ga.— The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office was recently contacted by several residents regarding someone calling pretending to be a deputy. Residents reported to the LCSO that the “deputy” stipulated payment to avoid being arrested for alleged crimes.

LCSO assures citizens that this is a scam. The Sheriff’s Office nor its deputies require payment to avoid arrest. Victims of this scam should call 229.245.5270 to file a report.
