Release:

On March 29, 2020, at approximately 2:16 pm., a citizen reported that her business in the 300 block of East Gordon Street, had been broken into and several items had been taken from inside the business. Then on March 31, 2020, at approximately 9:27 pm., a victim reported that an unknown person had forcibly entered her residence in the 900 block of Marion Street, and taken property that belonged to her.

Both of these cases were assigned to detectives with the Valdosta Police Department Burglary Unit.

Detectives thoroughly went through the evidence in both of these cases, and they were quickly able to identify the offender in the case as Ronald Morgan. On April 1, 2020, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Morgan for 2 counts of burglary.

A be on the lookout (BOLO) was issued out to local law enforcement officers. On April 2, 2020, officers observed Morgan walking in the 1100 block of North Patterson Street. Morgan was taken into custody without incident and was transported to Lowndes County Jail.

“Our detectives did outstanding work thoroughly investigating these cases, and quickly identifying the offender. I am proud of the teamwork of our department by working together to ensure the offender was taken off the street quickly.” Chief Leslie Manahan
